About Me

Hi there! I’m Nia Yarden, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I was raised in a warm, middle-class family in one of the most peaceful states in the U.S. From a young age, the kitchen was my favorite place in the house—whether I was helping stir a pot, sneaking a spoonful of cookie dough, or watching my mom turn simple ingredients into unforgettable meals. Food always brought people together, and I loved that.

After earning my degree in education, I became a caregiver for a kind-hearted family whose youngest child had a severe dairy allergy. That experience opened my eyes. Suddenly, I was learning everything I could about dairy-free living—reading labels, experimenting with alternatives, and adapting classic comfort foods into meals that everyone could enjoy. What started as a job quickly turned into a passion.

That journey led me to create nytrecipe.com-a cozy corner of the internet where I share everything I’ve learned (and keep learning!) about dairy-free cooking. My goal is simple: to make dairy-free meals feel just as comforting, delicious, and satisfying as any traditional recipe.

Every recipe on this site is crafted with care—whether it’s a hearty dairy-free dinner, a refreshing shake, or a decadent dessert that just happens to be plant-based. I believe that no one should have to give up the foods they love just because of a dietary restriction.

When I’m not testing new recipes or writing guides, you’ll find me exploring farmer’s markets, photographing food by the window light, or working on creative content to help people enjoy dairy-free living with ease and joy.
